Outside my 9-to-5, I contribute my design skills to Slant’d: a collective of Asian Americans celebrating the journey of self discovery through personal storytelling and gatherings.
Role Art Director
As a part of the editorial team, I design stories in Slant’d annual magazine. I work closely with contributing artists and provide art directions while managing their timelines. I check in frequently with other designers in the team to ensure the quality of the magazine.
As one of the side projects for Slant’d, I designed our cookbook: ‘Full Bellies, Full Hearts.’ The goal of this cookbook was to celebrate the dishes of our cultures and the stories that feed them. I worked closely with illustrator Felicia Liang throughout the process.
I created multiple merch items such as illustrated stickers that depict everyday Asian objects and a badasian keychain.
I designed our mobile and desktop website using Webflow. I collaborated with UX designer Joanna Choi and oversaw the entire process including discovery, sitemap creation, wireframing, user testing, and design.
I created various print materials for events to ensure that our brand is represented consistently in every environment.
